Community Helpers!

Last week, we were visited by two different types of "Community Helpers". Officer Gallob, from the Hinesville Police Dept. and members of the Hinesville Fire Dept., were kind enough to come and speak to the students about their jobs. They got to sit inside both a police car and a fire engine! The students had a great time! Thank you HPD and HFD!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom & Chicka Chicka 1,2,3!

Over the past 2 weeks we have been learning how to recognize letters & numbers. We made handprint palm trees to represent the tree from our story & practiced writing & recognizing the letters in our names. We've also been working hard on 1-to-1 correspondence (counting objects) & identifying numbers. Please continue to practice these skills at home as well.

Fun With Colors & Shapes!

For the past 3 weeks, we have been learning about colors & shapes. We made color collages, fruit loop necklaces, mixed paint, AB patterns, & shape trains. We also learned fun color & shape songs. Our favorite activity was the "shape hunt" around our school & classroom to find real-life objects that are circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, etc.

Off to a Great Start!

WOW! Our first month in PreK has been SUPER! We've practiced classroom procedures,learned how to recognize our first names, and made LOTS of new friends! We're looking forward to an exciting year ahead!

Tropical Rain Forests!

This week we had an exciting time exploring and learning about Rain Forests! We made snakes, rain forest patterns, rain sticks, and enjoyed rain forest pizza on Friday. We talked about the many helpful products that come from the rain forest and the 4 different layers that make up the forest. We also discussed ways to help save the endangered animals that live in the rain forest.

WE LOVE SPRING!!

The week before spring break we had a great time learning about spring & getting ready to celebrate Easter! We made spring patterns, painted Easter eggs,watched our plants grow & had an egg hunt!
