Dental Health!

This week we had a visit from 3 dental professionals. Students learned about healthy & unhealthy foods for their teeth. They also learned how to brush properly & about the magic number "2"....

How many times a day should you brush? 2
For how long? 2 minutes
How often should you replace your toothbrush? every 2 months
How many times a year should you visit the dentist? 2

It's great to be back!

Hello everyone! This was my first week back to work after maternity leave, and I think all of the kids grew a FOOT while I was gone! It was great to see their smiling faces again...I've missed them dearly!

I've attached a picture of my new little one. I brought him by the school to meet the kids on Monday. Needless to say, they LOVED him! They keep asking if he's going to come back & stay with
us. :-)

This week we've been preparing for Valentine's Day and our class party by graphing and estimating candy conversation hearts, creating Valentine's for friends and family, and learning about the history/facts surrounding Valentine's Day.  Next week we will begin talking about the importance of caring for our teeth; in honor of Dental Health month. A dentist will be visiting our classroom on Feb. 16th!

    

Groundhogs Day and Football

This week we learned about Groundhogs Day and football.  We learned what a shadow is, and whether or not the Groundhog saw his shadow.  We, also, learned to classify animals based on if they have fur, scales, or feathers.  On Thursday and Friday, we learned about football...the Giants and Patriots are in the super bowl this Sunday (Go Teams).  They got to do various activities related to football.  At the end of the week (Friday), we had our very own super bowl party.  The students got to eat a super bowl cake…yummy!!!!  Next week is all about Valentine’s Day.
