Attack of the Leprechaun!
After our field trip...we returned to find that our room had been visited by a Leprechaun! Furniture was moved, chairs were upside down, our calendar was missing, and little green footprints were everywhere!
Bamboo Farm Field Trip
On Wednesday, we took a field trip to the Bamboo Farm! The kids had a great time! We picked strawberries, planted seeds, and learned what plants need in order to grow. We also enjoyed eating lunch at the lakeside pavilion. Thanks to all of the volunteers who joined us!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!
The students had a great time this week learning about Dr. Seuss. We read rhyming stories, watched Horton Hears a Who, played Green Eggs & Ham tic-tac-toe, and created our own rhyming chart. The Foot Book, at home projects, turned out fantastic! On Friday, we celebrated his birthday by making hats & painting our faces like "Cat in the hat"!
Last week we learned about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. Students learned that Harriet helped over 300 slaves escape to freedom and that she was the head "conductor" of the Underground Railroad. We also made a class freedom quilt representing the secret form of communication used by many slaves during that time.
